Glencoe Hospital Restoration
10 August 2011

The new owner of the  Glencoe Hospital building and grounds, Mr Roger Niemeyer, has started work on restoring the building to its former glory. The outside of the building is surrounded by scaffolding to enable cleaning of the walls, restoration work on the windows, roof and guttering and renewal of chimney pots.  Work has begun to clear the undergrowth which had taken over the grounds during ownership by Highland Health Board.  The outbuilding which housed the former ambulance station, which originally was the power house and laundry to 'Glencoe House' is also receiving treatment. Crumbling roughcast on the walls has been replaced and painted. Work continues to make all of the buildings wind and water tight before the winter.
